BULLDOG ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
FOOTBALL RULES AND REGULATONS
REGISTRATION/FEES
1.1 Each student who wishes to participate in the Bulldog Athletic Program, must be a student currently in attendance at UMS-Wright.
1.2 Players will play on teams assigned by grade level. Players may only play on teams designated for the current grade level of the player.
1.3 Players will not be allowed to practice or participate without a valid physical completed by a licensed physician.
1.4 Students will register to play on the date and time to be set each year by the Board of Directors of the Bulldog Athletic Association.
1.5 A fee of $100.00 due at time of registration will be assessed to each player. This fee includes officials, game jersey and helmet emblem. This fee also helps to offset the cost of lighting the fields for both practice and games.
ARTICLE II
PRACTICE & GAMES
2.1 Practice shall begin each year at a time no sooner than the beginning date prescribed for UMS-Wright Varsity Team by the AHSAA.
2.2 No player will be allowed to participate in contact without three (3) days of conditioning drills in helmet and shorts. After three days of conditioning drills, a player may be in full practice dress.
2.3. No teams shall be assembled in whole or part by any coach, assistant coach, or parent for practice, conditioning drills, or running prior to the beginning practice as prescribed by the Bulldog Athletic Association.
2.4 Practice sessions will be conducted on the Radcliff Baseball Field on the campus of UMS-Wright. Practice will be from 6:00-7:30 pm on days when games are not played, excluding Friday practices and week-end practices. It is the policy of Bulldog Athletic Association that there will be no practices Friday through Sunday after the varsity football season begins on August 28, 2009.
2.5 All games will be scheduled by a representative appointed by the Athletic Director of UMS-Wright.
2.6 It is the desire of the Association to play a minimum of 6 games per year and a maximum of 8.
2.7 Tentative game times and dates are set as follows:
· Sixth Grade team will play on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 pm in Cooper Stadium.
· Fourth and fifth grade teams will play on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 and 7:30 pm at Urquhart Field. We will try to rotate early and late games weekly for these teams.
Third Grade games are TBA
· GAME DAYS AND TIMES ARE TENTATIVE AND MAY HAVE TO BE MOVED IN ORDER TO BUILD A COMPLETE SCHEDULE.
2.8 Each game will be played with four (4) ten (10) minute quarters, and otherwise in the manner provided by high school rules.
ARTICLE III
UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT
3.1 Each player must have and utilize in every game full uniform and equipment. This includes a NOCSAE approved helmet with facemask and mouthpiece, pants, kneepads, hip pads, tail pads, and shoulder pads.
3.2 Parents will be responsible for purchasing shoulder pads, helmet, practice pants and practice shirts, and white game pants.
3.3 Game jersey and helmet mascot emblem will be supplied as part of playing fees.
ARTICLE IV
COACHES
4.1 Head coaches will be chosen by the board members of the Bulldog Athletic Association, and must be approved by the Athletic Director of UMS-Wright. Assistant coaches will be chosen by the head coach and approved by the AD of UMS-Wright.

3rd Grade - Doug Barber
4th Grade - Frank McIlwain
5th Grade - Craig Brantley
6th Grade - Paige Plash
4.2 All coaches must complete coaches training including emergency management and CPR.
4.3 Head coaches must complete a fundamental training session conducted by UMS-Wright coaching staff.
4.4 All coaches must refrain from tobacco, alcohol use or profanity during practices and games.

BULLDOG ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION IS BEING FORMED AS A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION. IT IS NOT A PROGRAM OF UMS-WRIGHT PREPARATORY SCHOOL.
