Welcome to Lower School~

Our staff members work daily with students, their parents, and fellow staff members to ensure that UMS-Wright students receive a solid foundation on which to build.  Our school mission is to educate all students to their highest potential in mind, body, and spirit and to produce in each student character of the highest possible order.

As we begin each school day, children and adults join together via the intercom to recite the school prayer and pledge allegiance to the flag.

Our day moves at a rapid pace enabling students to spend a considerable portion of their school day receiving direct instruction and supervised practice. In pre-kindergarten through first grade the focus of this instruction is language arts and math with social studies and science integrated.  As students become more independent a greater part of their day is spent in the content areas of science and social studies. Language arts and math are emphasized throughout Lower School.

Fine arts, computer, library, language, character education, physical education, extra-curricular activities and special assemblies ensure that every day offers a broad range of opportunities for development.

The only way to really "get the feel" of what UMS-Wright is all about is to visit our campus.  If you are already a part of our school family, share the good news.  If you want to know more, please contact our admissions department.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ginger Holmes
