Communication Arts

The Communication Arts department is founded on the philosophy that success in life depends upon the effective communication of ideas, opinions, and aesthetic values. To help students attain success, we offer courses in broadcast journalism, drama, debate, forensics, and speech.  Active participation challenges them to approach problem-solving critically, analytically, and creatively.  Thus students develop the poise and confidence to succeed in a variety of communication settings in school, in the arts, and in life.

Broadcast Journalism

Students in grades 9-12 produce daily school-wide broadcasts with news ranging from upcoming events, game scores, interviews, tech reviews, and trivia. Additionally, the team records and edits special school events such as Senior Investiture, Hall of Fame inductions, honors assemblies, and athletic events.
