Meet the Head Coach
With fifteen years of head coaching experience, Libby Hoffman returns for an ninth season as both head volleyball and girls varsity golf coach for UMS-Wright. The Bulldog Varsity Volleyball team has made nine straight Elite Eight appearances in as many years. Although volleyball is her primary sport, Coach Hoffman has worked to put the UMS-Wright girls golf program on the map. With each passing season, the team has advanced one step deeper into post-season play. Coach Hoffman's husband Joel is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and is retired from the Army Corps of Engineers.
The Bulldogs played a tough 2016 schedule, beginning each match in prayer and finishing with a successful three-peat as Sectional Champs, a repeat as Sub-State Champs, a 4A-5A State Runner-Up tite, and placed two girls on the 1A-7A all county golf team. The 2017 girls golf season is underway and once again, and the team has high expectations for themselves….a return trip to the State Playoff Round.
UMS-Wright will field both a varisy and a junior varsity team once again in 2017. All the girls play qualifying rounds together, practice together, learn from each other, and get better every day. Our JV team is working hard to improve and shave strokes from their game and will play nine-hole matches. With three of the four varity golfers returning, Coach Hoffman and the girls are looking forward to continued sucess and will only compete in 18 or 36-hole events. The Bulldogs will face though competition along the way, competing at some of the premier courses in the state.
You can follow their progress at the UMS-Wright girls golf team page.
