After-School Programs

Registration opens February 21st

*Registrations after March 11th will have a price increase of $10.

This registration window allows teachers time to purchase enough supplies, prepare materials, and plan activities for the program. Thank you for your understanding.

UMS-Wright offers a wide variety of enrichment opportunities once the school day has come to an end. Programs are taught by UMS-Wright faculty members and most meet for an estimated hour, allowing students to explore interests outside of the classroom. Monday Programs

ART Lab: Creating with Clay - $100

Grades: K4-2

Mondays

March 16th – April 27th

3:00-4:00

Room: LS Art Room

Students will explore many mediums while printing and hand building original clay creations. We will get our inspiration from a new story each week.  Students creativity will be unleashed when they work with clay and add interesting materials and textures. This class is great for developing motor skills while having fun. All projects will be fired in the kiln and returned on the last day of class.  

Flag Football / T-Ball - $100

Grades: K4-K5

Calling all kids who love sports!  Come have a lot of fun and learn the basics of flag football and t-ball! The first 3 weeks will be football and the final 3 weeks will be t-ball.  We will learn the rules of each game and play flag football and t-ball games!  You will even bring home a fun "football game" and "baseball game" to play inside at home!

Homework Lab - $200

Grades: 5-8

Homework lab provides a safe and quiet place for middle school students to complete assignments and receive help from a supervising teacher. Homework lab takes place on both Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00.

Star Wars - $100

What exactly is a Wookie? How old is Yoda? How do you make the jump to Hyperspace? Join us in a galaxy far, far away to explore the answers to these questions and more! We will explore the different characters and places in Star Wars by making themed activities and crafts together. We will even take a look at the science behind Star Wars and do some experiments of our own! You won't want to miss this Epic Adventure!

Fairy Gardens - $100

Grades: K4-2

In this class we will explore fairies and gardens! Each week will bring a new activity and garden adventure. We will have a scavenger hunt, paint rocks, make a birdhouse, and even eat dirt cups!! We will end the class with our very own fairy garden to take home. Come and join the magical land of fairies! Never “Bored” Games - $100

Grades: 2-5

Tuesdays

Strategy games like Chess and Pig will make your brains grow extra big! Four Corners, Dominoes, and card games galore, this class will have you asking for more!  We'll shoot hoops with socks, play tag and build towers. There's so much fun to be had in just one hour! So, join in a game -inside or out. Plan to come see what Never "Bored" Games is all about!

Minute to Win It! - $100

Grades: K5-3rd

Compete against yourself and your friends in crazy and creative challenges. This is the place where FUN begins and you ONLY have a MINUTE to WIN it! Can you balance fruit loops on the end of a popsicle stick without them falling? Are you able to squeeze water from a sponge and fill a cup in 60 seconds? Can you put together plastic Easter eggs in 1 minute? Join us for fun competitions and prizes.

Kickball Jr. - $100

Grades: K4-2nd

Want to have some fun after school and learn a fantastic game? Come join me for kickball. You will learn the fundamentals of kickball, how to be a team player, and have so much fun! 

Construction Zone - $100

Grades: K4-2

Wednesdays

Room: 142 

Students will love pulling out everything from K-nex's, Legos, Lincoln Logs, and architectural blocks as they construct their own cities, towers, and machines. Students will work in groups or individually to make their coolest designs to be photographed each week. At the completion of the session students will take home a scrapbook of their personal creations. There will be zillions of building materials. Hard hats are optional.

Advanced Kickball - $100

Grades: 3-6

Wednesdays Programs

March 18th – April 29th

3:00-4:00

Room: 205 / Outside

Students will have fun competing in kickball. We will also discuss some helpful tips and tricks. Students will have the opportunity to play in a tournament.  We will also enjoy some delicious snacks while we have a great time together. 

Sugar and Spice - $100

Grades: K4-2

Wednesdays

March 18th – April 29th

3:00-4:00

Room: 178

Join us for sugar and spice and everything nice! We will create a dessert, make a hair accessory, play games, design a flower garden and have a Spring picnic.  We will have tea parties and make friendship bracelets, decorate cookies, dye Easter eggs, make fairy headbands, and create a butterfly garden.

Under the Big Top - $100

March 19th – April 30th

Room: 108

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, get ready for the Greatest Show on Earth! You'll love this highly interactive circus extravaganza. We will explore the performers, animals, and even become a ring master for the day. Step right up! Step right up to join in on the fun under the big top! 

Edible Engineering - $100

Grades: K5-3

Thursdays

March 19th – April 30th

3:00-4:00

Room: 152

It's time to build, create, and use your imagination with edible materials! We will explore engineering and problem solving with some yummy treats. Some challenges will require teamwork and cooperation while others will be completed individually. Let your imagination run wild creating and building with food! Are you up to the challenge?  

Sports Card Collecting - $100

Grades: 3-6

Thursdays

March 19th – April 30th

3:00-4:00

Room: 108 

This will be a fun immersion into the hobby of sports card collecting. We will begin by opening packs and learn how to determine the different values of cards. How to properly store and protect cards. Fun ways to collect cards from Pack Wars to Box Breaks. And finally determining approximate value to your best cards.
