Season RECAP

2017 was another great year for UMS-Wright Baseball.  Led by 7 Seniors, Sam Plash, Conner Simmons, Conner Jednat, Tanner Allen, Dalton Goff, Evan Hannah,  and Christian Cooper, we captured the school’s 10th State Championship in Baseball.  Making it more special was winning in Back to Back fashion.  It was a special season to say the least.  Every team goes through highs and lows, but this team kept grinding out every day.  Winning 3 consecutive game 3’s showed their mental toughness.  I would like to thank all of my coaches for all their hard work and sacrifices they made this season.  There will be some hard shoes to fill in 2018, but I have no doubt we will.  I can’t wait for 2018 to begin.  It should be another exciting season.

At the end of the year banquet, many awards were handed out.  The James “Red” Leachman was given to Sam Plash.  This award exemplifies the Team MVP.  The Gary Willard Memorial Baseball Award was given to Conner Jednat.  The 2 Bulldog Award winners were Tanner Allen and Conner Jednat.  This years team voted 3 Captains for 2017.  They were Sam Plash, Conner Jednat and Tanner Allen.  Conner Jednat was also named 4A player of the year.

We are looking forward to seeing everybody back at Radcliffe Field next year for another exciting season.
